Our long, expensive, hard, emotional journey has come to happy and satisfactory end finally!!! After over a year of lawyer fees piling high and emotions high and low and up and down, we have finally finished what we had set out to do! On 09-09-09 at 10:00 am and Devon is 9 years old, we had our adoption hearing. Bart has officially adopted Devon!!!!! We are the happy, full complete and officially and lawfully Bartos now!!
Devon during the process was told that when it was official he could change his name to whatever he would like or keep it the same. He has chosen to change his middle and of course his last name. Bart and I decided that because this was his choice and what he wanted, he could do what he felt he wanted to do. So he has changed his name from Devon J Hill to Devon Hines Barto. He has chosen Hines after his favorite STEELER football player #86 Hines Ward. As you can tell football has become a passion for Devon which Bart and him share together.
